This morning's forecast below clearly shows the problem: a fairly strong south-westerly then westerly wind blowing at all altitudes.
The briefing will take place on take-off at around 1pm.
Task class 1
A goal at Calaf aerodrome with a single intermediate beacon. The idea is to 'exploit' the westerly wind trend.
Tack sportclass
Much more traditional. Several round trips between the two canyons with a landing at the usual Agullo landing place, near the pigsty.
13h40. A veil of high cloud blocked the convection, so the event director decided to postpone the start until 3pm with windows every 20 minutes to give the conditions time to improve.

The opinion of Laurent Pironneau, pilot of the sport class who was flying single surface, and who landed 4 km from the last beacon.
Consistent conditions that allowed us to go fast along the ridge. It was possible to fly fast with ceilings of around 1800 m. The conditions were pleasant and it was possible to follow the ridge without winding up. We flew with Élie (Élie Chemaly, also single surface) for most of the leg. There was a veil of high cloud and as soon as it lifted, the thermals 'lit up'. It was wonderful to see the Class 1 pilots take off, and today's wings are really powerful. The difference in level between the lake to the east and the one to the west was astonishing (the one to the west being dry).
The run wasn't difficult; you could do it by staying on the ridge. Unfortunately, being over-confident and lacking experience of the competition, I went under the ridge and didn't manage to reach the goal. I didn't miss by much, taking one last bubble that put me a few metres clear of Élie! The landing went off without a hitch, close to the cerveza where Élie joined me.
Class 1.
"Shitty as hell, but fun all the same! A sentence that sums up the impression this round left on the pilots.
Françoise Dieuzeide say.
Pushy conditions at the start, requiring patience. I came back to take the second start and we easily caught up with those from the first, thanks to an opening in the cloud cover. I found myself with Tao (Tao Le) in a good thermal after the gorges. I left the thermal at 2200 m while Tao made it to the ceiling at 2500 m with a south-westerly drift. We meet up again at the same height and wait for our comrades (in visual, about fifteen pilots).
The group heads out onto the plains while everything is in the shade. We spread across the plain to find little bubbles . At one point, I lost 200 m looking at other pilots climbing below me, hoping to exploit their bubble... which never came. I went to land in a field where there were two Czechs.
